Dr John Doherty, trained in Internal Medicine at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, Oxford.   He was then a lecturer In Clinical Medicine at St. Bartholomews' London.  Subsequently he specialized in Cardiology at the world renowned Royal Brompton Hospital in London.  He was also a British Heart Foundation Research Fellow and has a doctorate in electrophysiology.  He was appointed a Consultant Cardiologist in the NHS in 1996.  Dr Doherty moved to Bermuda in 1999 to provide specialized cardiac services to the community.
